Peter
Burg opened Burg Photographix in 1980 in Maitland. He concentrates
primarily on commercial and architectural photography, although
he still does both portraits and weddings. One of his areas of specialty
is panoramic photography. He applies these skills to both architectural
and scenic photography. He is slowly working his way around the
world doing general and panoramic stock photography of the United
States, Canada, England, Italy, France, China and Tibet . Prior
to 2000, Peter maintained a black and white darkroom at his studio
for 25 years. In 2000, Peter's studio began
the conversion to digital. Today he is 95% digital in his image
capturing.
A
Certified Professional Photographer, Peter holds the degrees Master
of Photographer, Photographic Craftsman, Florida Degree of Photographic
Excellence, Florida
Service Award, and Qualified Panoramic Photographer.
In
1987, Peter earned Best of Show Commercial, at South Eastern Professional
Photographers of America. His photograph "One in the Hand"
was
awarded First Place in the General Commercial as well as Best of
Show Commercial with the first perfect score of 100. This was the
first 100 score ever
awarded at SEPPA judging It was also chosen for the PP of A Loan
Collection. Peter's print "One in the Hand" was also awarded
the first score of 100 ever awarded at the Florida Professional
Photographers convention. The image was also on exhibit at the Professional
Photographer's Showcase in the
Kodak Pavilion at Epcot Center. His print "Estee Lauder Red"
was one of 10 chosen to represent PP of A in the World Council of
Professional Photographers
Exhibit. His panoramic “Morning Reflection” has been used by PPA
in advertising materials.
The
2004 recipient of the Florida Past Presidents Award for Photographic
Excellence, he has previously won the Robert Becker Memorial Award
for Creative Photography. Peter is also a two time winner of the
Florida Kodak 50th Anniversary Award for Consistent Quality, a five
time recipient of the Kodak Gallery award and three time recipient
of the Fuji Masterpiece award. He is also a photo historian with
an extensive knowledge of the history of photography
and collectable cameras.
