Although not a professional photographer but a Senior Service Technician of Macintosh computers, I've been interested in
photography for many years, but never invested in any film equipment beyond the cheap point-and-shoot type cameras.
In April 2000, I decided to take the plunge into digital photography.
I bought a Kodak "pro-sumer" camera which I used for 2 years. I then stepped up to a better "pro-sumer" Nikon Coolpix. I got
some very nice shots with these cameras, but I always felt limited by them. I would miss shots due to power-up time, focus time,
shutter lag, lack of zoom, poor low-light ability, etc.
I wanted the limitations to be mine, not the camera's, so in April, 2005 I bought a Canon 20D with several quality lenses,
a flash unit, tripod, etc. I have been very happy with this amazing camera and have captured some wonderful moments with it.
